DANS UNE SEMAINE, LA PREMIÈRE JOURNÉE MONDIALE DE LUTTE CONTRE L'HOMOPHOBIE SE DÉROULERA DANS PLUS DE QUARANTE PAYS

Dans une semaine, le mardi 17 mai, la première Journée mondiale de lutte contre l'homophobie se déroulera à l'occasion du quinzième anniversaire de la décision de l'OMS de retirer l'homosexualité de la liste des maladies mentales. La Fédération française des CGL et la Coordination InterPride France (CIF) appellent de nouveau celles et ceux qui luttent pour l'égalité des droits à signer la pétition en ligne pour la reconnaissance officielle de cette Journée (quelque 9.500 signatures à ce jour) :

Dans plus de quarante pays, le 17 mai mais aussi durant tout le mois de mai, des centaines de manifestations mettront l'accent sur les violences qui frappent les lesbiennes, les gais, les bi et les trans – rappelant les avancées obtenues et celles à obtenir. La Fédération des CGL et la CIF présentent un programme des manifestations prévues par leurs associations membres dans 17 départements, de la Côte-d'Or (21) à La Réunion (974) – annexe [b]. (21) Mardi 17 mai, le CGL Dijon (CIGaLes) projettera le film "Crustacés et Coquillages" de Olivier Ducastel et Jacques Martineau avant d'animer un débat sur l'homophobie (cinéma "L'Eldorado", rue Alfred-de-Musset). La mairie de Dijon a également accepté de publier une page spéciale sur l'homophobie dans le numéro de mai du magazine municipal "Dijon Notre Ville".

(31) Mardi 17 mai à Toulouse, Arc-en-ciel inaugurera une exposition sur "les triangles roses : la mémoire oubliée" (19h00, cinéma "ABC", rue Saint-Bernard, jusqu'au 27 mai). Samedi 21 mai, Arc-en-ciel animera un débat sur le thème "Homophobie : état des lieux et réponses politiques" ("Quelles politiques préventives pour lutter contre le mal-être et le suicide des jeunes gays et lesbiennes ? Quelles campagnes de prévention dans les médias pour éduquer contre l'homophobie ? Quels dispositifs d'accueil pour les jeunes LGBT en rupture familiale ? Quels programmes d'éducation sexuelle dans les programmes scolaires ? Quelle formation complémentaire pour les adultes travaillant avec les jeunes ? Quelle formation pour les policiers et les gendarmes chargés d'accueillir les victimes ?"). Invité/es : Hussein Bourgi, président du Collectif contre l'homophobie et pour l'égalité des droits, de Montpellier, et des élu/es de toutes formations politiques à l'exception de l'extrême droite (17h00, salle Condorcet, Ligue de l'enseignement – Fédération des oeuvres laïques, au 31 de la rue des Amidonniers).

(35) Mardi 17 mai, le CGL Rennes organisera un rassemblement avec prise de parole en présence de Commune Vision, AIDES 35, David & Jonathan, Femmes entre elles, APGL Bretagne, Mix Cité Rennes et du Collectif des droits des femmes 35 (18h30, place de la Mairie).

(40) Mercredi 18 mai à Mont-de-Marsan, G2L (Gais et lesbiennes des Landes) proposera une rencontre avec Serge Simon, auteur du livre "Homophobie 2004", ancien rugbyman, proche de Noël Mamère, qui a collecté les lettres haineuses reçues par le maire de Bègles à l'occasion du mariage d'un couple de même sexe le 5 juin dernier (18h30, dédicace de l'ouvrage à la librairie "Caractères" ; 21h00, débat au bar associatif "Le Cercle des citoyens").

(49) Mardi 17 mai, le CGL Angers (Quazar) projettera le premier film sur la vie gaie à Moscou, "Je t'aime toi" (film russe de Olga Stolpovskaya et Dmitry Troitsky). Cette projection sera suivie d'un débat sur la place des personnes LGBT dans les pays de l'Est (20h00, cinéma "Les 400 coups").

(51) Mardi 17 mai, l'association étudiante Homozygote et les deux CGL Reims (Ex Æquo et Reims Liberté Gaie) déposeront une gerbe au monument des Pestiférés (19h00, pont de Vesle, près du garage Renault). Ex Æquo inaugurera une exposition sur les lettres reçues par Noël Mamère, remettra un prix de lutte contre l'homophobie à un homme politique engagé a ses côtés puis inaugurera une plaque en mémoire de François Chenu : la pièce principale du local du CGL sera baptisée "Espace François-Chenu", en présence de la famille du jeune homme assassiné à Reims le 13 septembre 2002 (20h00, au local d'Ex Æquo). Jeudi 19 mai, Ex Æquo animera un débat sur "Être homosexuel et homme politique" ("Un candidat à une élection doit-il faire état de son homosexualité devant ses électeurs ? L'omerta qui règne sur le sujet dans la classe politique n'est-elle pas un archaïsme ? Le milieu politique est-il homophobe ?"). Invité/es : Philippe Ménard, maire de Barsac, secrétaire national de l'UDF, auteur du livre "Le Prix de la différence", et d'autres élus locaux (20h45, au local d'Ex Æquo). Samedi 21 mai, Ex Æquo participera à un festival de quartier et animera un débat sur l'homophobie en présence de Reims Liberté Gaie (RLG). Dimanche 22 mai, RLG projettera le documentaire sur l'homophobie "Homos pour cible" réalisé par Olivier Le Mab, puis animera un débat avec le journaliste à partir de ses sentiments sur les réactions des personnes interrogées et sur les autres événements survenus durant son tournage (21h00, au local de RLG). Samedi 28 mai, RLG distribuera des tracts contre l'homophobie lors de la Lesbian & Gay Pride Champagne, marche qui cette année aura comme slogan "Lesbiennes, gais, bi, trans, pas d'égalité au rabais, dans la loi comme dans les mentalités". Par ailleurs, Ex Æquo prépare la sortie d'un "guide pratique des rencontres" afin de faciliter les rencontres gaies et d'éviter l'homophobie, distribuera des tracts contre l'homophobie dans les rues de Reims, et a déjà remis un "contrat contre l'homophobie" à signer pour le 17 mai aux syndicats et partis politiques marnais :

(54) Samedi 14 et lundi 16 mai, le CGL Nancy (Homonyme) distribuera un tract expliquant ce qu'est l'homophobie et détaillant le "pourquoi" et le "comment" de la Journée mondiale de lutte contre l'homophobie. Mardi 17 mai, le CGL tiendra toute la journée une opération porte ouverte pour accueillir les curieux dans son local et faire de la prévention tout en présentant les différents aspects d'une association LGBT. Le CGL recevra la visite d'un élu local engagé a ses côtés puis animera une émission de radio spéciale sur l'homophobie.

(57) Samedi 14 mai à Sarreguemines, Émergence accueillera un avocat, membre de l'association SOS homophobie, qui présentera son rapport annuel 2005 (15h00) ; SOS homophobie présentera la Haute autorité de lutte contre les discriminations et pour l’égalité, instituée par la loi du 30 décembre 2004 (16h00) ; Émergence animera une table ronde sur "l'homophobie et les discriminations transfrontalières" (17h00) puis offrira le verre de l'amitié (18h00) ("Interassociation Centre social", salle 7, au 3 de la rue Jacques-Roth). Entre le samedi 14 et le lundi 22 mai, le CGL Metz (Couleurs Gaies) animera un débat sur l'homophobie à Thionville : la date sera fixée quand la mairie de Thionville se décidera à lui donner les disponibilités de ses salles ouvertes à la location... Mardi 17 mai, à Metz, le CGL lira et commentera lors de sa permanence hebdomadaire des lettres reçues par Noël Mamère puis donnera une conférence de presse pour annoncer qu'il vient de déposer un recours devant le tribunal administratif de Nancy, en vue de faire annuler le refus d'agrément qui lui a été opposé par le rectorat de l'académie Nancy-Metz. Cet agrément devait lui permettre d'intervenir en milieu scolaire dans le cadre de la lutte contre les discriminations et contre la sursuicidalité des jeunes LGBT : il lui a été refusé en avril dernier après deux ans de tergiversations au motif que l'orientation sexuelle serait à considérer comme un choix privé et personnel au même titre que l'orientation politique et religieuse... Jeudi 19 mai, les militant/es du CGL distribueront des brochures de présentation de leur association devant les lycées et sur le campus universitaire de Metz, afin que les jeunes LGBT, qui n'ont évidement pas choisi de l'être contrairement à ce qu'affabule le recteur, puissent connaître ses services d'information et d'écoute.

(64) Mardi 17 mai à Biarritz, la Lesbian & Gay Pride organisera une soirée-débat autour de la projection du film "Fire" (20h30, cinéma "Le Royal").

(69) Mardi 17 mai à Lyon, un "collectif associatif" proposera un débat à l'IUFM (12h00) puis distribuera des tracts rue de la République (14h00). Le CGL Lyon (Forum gai & lesbien) participera à un forum associatif place Antonin-Poncet (17h00) puis clôturera la journée avec un repas norvégien (à partir de 19h00).

(75) Samedi 14 mai à Paris, l'antenne Paris-Île-de-France de "An Nou Allé !", CGL Antilles-Guyane, Association des Noir/es lesbiennes, gais, bi & trans en France, distribuera un tract afin de sensibiliser la communauté antillo-guyanaise et africaine en Île-de-France sur la sursuicidalité des personnes LGBT (24h30, discothèque "Le Club").

(76) Mardi 17 mai à Rouen, rendez-vous surprise avec "Comme ça !" (18h00, place de la Cathédrale).

(80) À Amiens dans la Somme, HomoLog projette encore de mettre en place une campagne d'affichage.

(91) Mardi 17 mai à Massy, Angel 91 animera un débat public : "Homophobie, le combat continue : après les lois, changeons les mentalités et les comportements !" ("L'homophobie explicite ou implicite dans les réalités de l'école, de la famille et du travail – Des témoignages de jeunes, d'enseignants et de salariés"). Invité/es : Philippe Castel du collectif contre l'homophobie de la FSU et Christiane Redjalla de Contact (de 19h00 à 22h30, à la bourse du travail, au 14 du chemin des Femmes, 10 minutes à pied de la gare de Massy-Palaiseau sur le RER B, 20 minutes de trajet depuis Paris).

Fight against discrimination
IN A WEEK'S TIME THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA WILL TAKE PLACE IN MORE THAT FORTY COUNTRIES

(GLCs and CIF lay out the activities planned for mainland France and the overseas territories)

In a week's time, on Tuesday the 17th of March the first International Day of Struggle against homophobia will take place fifteen years to the day from WHO's decision to remove homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses. The French Federation of GLCs and Coordination InterPride France (CIF) once again call upon all those who are fighting for equal rights to sign the on-line ion for official recognition of this Day (some 9,500 have so far signed):

In more than forty countries, on the 17th of May and also throughout the month, hundreds of activities will highlight the violence which afflicts lesbians, gays, bi- and trans-sexuals. They will bring to mind the advances already made and those still to be achieved. The Federation of GLCs and CIF have set out a programme of demonstrations and activities planned by their member associations in 17 local areas, from the Cote d'Or (21) to Reunion (see annex [b]). (21) On Tuesday the 17th of May the Dijon GLC (CIBaLes) will show a film by Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Matineau - "Crustacés et Coquillages" - before organising a discussion on homophobia (at L'Eldorado Cinema, rue Alfred-de-Musset. Dijon City Hall has also agreed to publish a special page on homophobia in its municipal magazine "Dijon Notre Ville".

(26) On Wednesday the 13th of May, in Bourg-lès-Valence in the Drôme, Radio-Méga (99.2FM) will broadcast its special programme on homophobia, presented by Agayri, which was first broadcast on Sunday the 8th of May:

(31) On Tuesday, the 17th of May, at Toulouse, Arc-en-Ciel will open an exhibition on "pink triangles - the forgotten memory" (19:00, cinema "ABC", rue Saint-Bernard, until the 27th of May). On Sunday the 21st of May, Arc-en-Ciel will organise a discussion on the theme "Homophobia - the state of affairs and political responses" ("Preventative policies for fighting against despair and suicide among young gays and lesbians? Preventative campaigns in in the media to educate people against homophobia? Provision for supporting young LGBTs who have been thrown out by their families? Sexual education programmes in schools? Ancillary training for adults who work with the young? Training for the police who are charged with supporting victims?"). Among those invited are Hussein Bourgi from Montpellier, president of the Collective against homophobia and for equal rights, and elected representatives of all parties except those of the extreme right (17:00, salle Condorcet, Ligue de l'enseignement - Fédération des oeuvres laïques, at 31 de la rue des Amidonniers).

(35) On Tuesday the 17th of March, Rennes GLC will organise a meeting with speeches, with Commune Vision, AIDES 35, David & Jonathan, Femmes entre elles, APGL Bretagne, Mix Cité Rennes and the Collectif des droits des femmes 35 (18:30, place de la Mairie).

(40) On Wednesday the 18th of May in Mont-de-Marsan, G2L (Gays and Lesbians of the Landes) are offering a meeting between Serge Simon, author of the book "Homphobie 2004" and a former rugby player, a friend of Noël Mamère who made a collection of the hate-filled letters received by the Mayor of Bèlges on the occasion of the marriage of a same-sex couple last June the 5th (18:30 books-signing at "Caractères" bookshop; 21:00, discussion in the nearby bar "Le Cercle des citoyens").

(49) On Tuesday the 17th of March. Angers GLC (Quazar) will show the first fill on gay life in Moscow, "Je t'aime toi" (a film in Russian by Olga Stolpovskaya and Dmitry Troitsky). This showing will be followed by a discussion on the place of LGBT people in Eastern Europe (20:00, "Les 400 coups" cinema).

(51) On Tuesday the 17th of May, a student organisation, Homozygote, and the two Rheims GLCs,(Ex Æquo et Reims Liberté Gaie), will lay a wreath at the Pestiférés monument (19:00, pont de Vesle, near the Renault garage). Ex Æquo will open an exhibition of the letters received by Noël Mamère; they will award a prize to a politician fighting alongside them for the struggle against homophobia and then unveil a plaque in memory of François Chenu. The main room in the GCL premises will be named "Espace François-Chenu" in the presence of the family of this young man who was murderd in Rheims on the 13th of September 2002 (20:00, at Ex Æquo premises). On Thursday the 19th of May, Ex Æquo will organise a discussion on "Being Gay and a Politician" ("Must a candidate at an election declare his homosexuality to the voters? Is the silence among politicians on this matter a bit of an anachronism? Is political life intrinsically homophobic?"). Those invited are - Philippe Ménard, Mayor of Barsac, National Secretary of the UDF, and author of the book "Le Prix de la différence" ("The Costs of Being Different") and other local elected representatives (20:45, at Ex Æquo premises). On Sunday the 21st of May, Ex Æquo will take part in an area festival and will organise a discussion on homophobia along with Reims Liberté Gaie (RLG). On Sunday the 22nd of May, RLG will show the documentary on homophobia "Homos pour cible" directed by Olivier Le Mab followed by a discussion with him on his thoughts on the reactions of the people interviewed and other events during the filming (21:00 at RLG premises). On Saturday the 28th of May, RLG will give out pamphlets against homophobia during the Lesbian and Gay Pride March in Champagne. This march will have as its slogan this year "No second rate equality for Lesbians, Gays, Bi's and Trans - not in law, not in attitudes". Elsewhere, Ex Æquo is preparing a "practical guide to get-togethers" to facilitate meetings among gays, will give out pamphlets against homophobia in the streets of Rheims to stave off homophobia, and has already sent a "contract against homophobia" to be signed by the 17th of May to the trades unions and political parties of the Marne.

(54) On Saturday the 14th and Monday the 16th of May, Nancy GLC (Homonyme) will distribute a pamphlet explaining what homophobia and setting out the "why" and the "how" of the International Day against Homophobia. On Tuesday the 17th of May, the GLC will hold a doors-open-day to welcome the curious to its premises. They will demonstrate all aspects of a LGBT association in the hope of preventing homophobia. The GLC will be visited by a local elected representative who is working along with them and will then organise a special radio broadcast on homophobia.

(57) On Saturday the 14th of May at Sarreguemines, Émergence will introduce a lawyer, a member of the SOS Homophobie association, who will present its annual report for 2005 (15:00); SOS Homophobie will outline the work of the High Authority for the Struggle against Discrimination and for Equality, established by the law of the 30th of December 2004 (16:00); Émergence will organise a round-table discussion on "homophobia and international discrimination" (17:00) then a glass of friendship will be served (18:00, "Interassociation Centre social", salle 7, at number 3 rue Jacques-Roth). Between Saturday the 14th and Monday the 22nd of May, Metz GLC (Couleurs Gaies) will organise a discussion on Homophobia in Thionville. The date will be fixed when Thionville Town Hall decides to let them know the availability of their halls-to-let. On Tuesday the 17th of March, in Metz, the GLC will hold a public meeting with commentary upon the letters received by Noël Mamère. They will then give a press conference to announce that they have requested help from the Nancy administrative tribunal, with a view to reversing Nancy-Metz Academy Rector's refusal to give him permission to go into schools in support of the fight against discrimination and the high rate of suicide among young gays. He was refused in April last year after two years putting him off. They said that sexual orientation should be considered a personal and private matter of choice, in the same way as one's political or religious views. On Thursday the 19th of May, activists of the GLC will distribute brochures outside secondary schools and on Metz university campus, outlining their association so that young LGBT people, who have not obviously chosen to be so, no matter what the Rector might say, can hear about their information and advisory services.

(64) On Tuesday the 17th of May in Biarritz, Lesbian and Gay Pride will organise an evening discussion around a showing of the film "Fire" (at 20:30 at "Le Royal" cinema).

(69) On Tuesday the 17th of May in Lyons an "associated collective" is holding a discussion at IUFM (12:00) and will then give out pamphlets in the rue de la République (14:00). Lyons GLC (Forum gai & lesbien) will participate in a meeting in place Antonin-Poncet (17:00), ending the day with a Norwegian meal (starting 19:00).

(75) Saturday the 14th of May in Paris, the Paris-Île-de-France group of "An Nou Allé !", the Antilles-Guyane GLC, the Association of Black Lesbians, Gays, Bi's and Tran's in France, will give out pamphlets to raise awareness in the West Indian and African community of the high rate of suicide among LGBT people in the Île-de-France.(24:30, "Le Club").

(76) On Tuesday May the 17th in Rouen, a surprise rendezvous with "Comme ça !" (18:00, place de la Cathédrale).

(80) In Amiens on the Somme, HomoLog plans once again to have some poster campaign.

(91) On Tuesday the 17th of May in Massy, Angel 91 will organise a public discussion: "Homophobia, the struggle continues - we've changed the law, now let us change attitudes and behaviour!" ("Homophobia, explicit or implicit, in the realities of school, family and work. First hand accounts by young people, teachers and employees"). Those invited are Philippe Castel of the FSU collective against homophobia and Christiane Redjalla of Contact (from 19:00 to 22:30, at the Bourse du Travail, 14 du chemin des Femmes, 10 minutes on foot from Massy-Palaiseau Station on RER line B, 20 minutes journey from Paris).

(972) On Tuesday the 17th of March at Fort-de-France, the Fort-de-France-Martinique group of "An Nou Allé !" will give out the same pamphlet distributed by the Paris-Île-de-France group.
